Here We Go Again

Having seen the front page of The Sun today I am left feeling torn with my opinions.

I know Chris, to a degree. I always found him polite, friendly, intelligent, all in all a very nice lad. The Chris I see and read about today, is not the Chris I know.

I am not going to get into a big debate about what he did, except to say that I think it makes both him and the Party look appalling and I certainly do not agree or support the whole neo-Nazi, Hitler worshipping ideology.

What I will take umbrage with though, is this Tweet from the Party Chairman:

"Appalling front page of Sun. Action will be announced within hour, but our people must learn that our Cause is too important for us to allow individual folly to harm it. One of my jobs over next 4 years is to complete the clean out of the party's soul. We're here to win, not engage in political necrophilia."

This would lead me to assume that Chris will be expelled and used as a public scapegoat to appease the media that will be out for blood.

I actually think that he should be expelled for his actions, but will not rejoice in him being used. The reasoning behind me feeling this way is simple.

Nick will expel Chris, not necessarily because he wants to, because he has to, but, and this is where the problem lies, he will allow others, such as someone who was dismissed from the police force for blackmail, another who was the subject of a major drugs investigation, others who were pictured with imitation firearms, a couple who produce, star in and distribute pornographic videos and many other individuals with a less than perfect "rap sheet" to remain in the Party.

These are not just ordinary members who have "slipped through the net". These are Senior Officials, Regional Organisers, heads of security, National Organisers, National Election Organisers...... the list goes on.

If indeed, "our Cause is too important for us to allow individual folly to harm it." and he does expel Chris, then surely he must expel the others that have brought the Party into disrepute because of their actions, shouldn't he?

Will he though? no of course he won't. If he were to exact the same punishment to the people who have done similar, if not worse than Chris, he would instantly loose a fair chunk of his Senior Officials and plunge the Party into internal chaos.

If this doesn't wake people up to the fact that the Chairman, thanks to some of the appointments he has made, amongst other things, has possibly ruined any chance that the Party had to make any difference for good, then what will?

My opinion? as far as the Party is concerned, it's all over bar the shouting and no amount of change, re-structure, even conferences, is going to make a blind bit of difference to the fact that the Party is now quickly becoming completely unelectable.

We need something new and quickly before it is genuinely too late.
