No, not an advert for a comparison website, but my state of mind. Here is what got me to this point;
On the 14th July 2011, Gary Raikes posts on his blog and on Facebook openly pledging his support to Nick Griffin in the Leadership Challenge. Fast forward to the 28th July, just 3 days after the conclusion of the Challenge and the Britain First website announces that Gary Raikes has joined them as their Co-ordinator for Scotland.
Gary has now confirmed that he has indeed left the Party and gone over to Britain First.
Well bugger me if I didn't pack my bags and move to Perplexedville.
This move leaves me pondering certain things;
1. I genuinely can't get my head around why anyone would want to join an organisation involving Jim Dowson and Paul Golding after, well, we all know after what don't we?
2. Britain First are believed, by many, to be the people behind the distribution of the now infamous "smear booklet" sent out during the Leadership Challenge. Why then would any Party member touch them with a barge pole?
3. Why would a staunch "Griffinite", within days leave the Party to join an organisation that already has most people scratching their heads?
This leads me and others, from what I have seen, to wonder if Nick is involved in Britain First in some way. Was the "spat" between him and Dowson not genuine?
I remember seeing a video, although I can't find it now, of Nick being interviewed as he arrived at the count in 2010 for Barking and Dagenham. I am sure he said something about the Party needing to become a civil rights organisation and basically doing a complete u-turn of what it is the Party did then or does now. Is Britain First what he meant?
